Alabama
Auburn: Homewood The Network defeated its closest in-state rival, Oak Mountain, for The Network’s third win of the season. It was Homewood’s sixth at Auburn and their 41st recorded win, moving them into a tie with Mitchell and Waubonsie Valley.
Arizona
Boulder Creek: In the first-ever Arizona competition that featured finals, Horizon Step on Stage claimed their first-ever grand championship. Step on Stage outpowered fellow Arizona heavyweight Valley Vista to do so. Horizon will head to Brownsburg in two weeks’ time, and this win bodes well for the Arizonians to make serious noise in Indiana.
California
Chaparral: Pacifica Encore beat Cypress and Bonita Vista to claim their first win at Showcase. Encore now totals five wins, four of which have come in the past three years. They have a good shot to claim another overall win this weekend at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Show Choir Tournament.
Esperanza: For the second consecutive week, John Burroughs defeated John F. Kennedy for the Advanced Mixed I win. Powerhouse is the third winner in as many years that Esperanza has hosted. Burroughs remains eighth on the all-time list, half a win behind Hurricane Red Hot (who also won this weekend).
Georgia
Rome: Donelson Christian Legacy won the inaugural Three Rivers Show Choir Invitational. Legacy beat Bradley Central Vocal Motion in the large mixed division, with no overall placements handed out. DCA is the third Tennessee group to win a competition (alongside Bradley Central and McGavock) and the 12th different group to win a competition in Georgia.
Illinois
El Paso-Gridley: Wheaton Warrenville South triumphed for the first time this season, extending their winning streak to four seasons and grabbing their 10th post-pandemic win. It was the 43rd recorded win for Classics, vaulting them into sole possession of 24th place on the all-time list.
Indiana
Franklin Central: Center Grove took yet another vocals/choreo win, this time over Carmel and Fishers. Sound System is now up to 94 recorded wins and has three so far this season. Their triumph at Franklin Central was their fourth at the event.
Franklin Community: Ben Davis Premiers won FComm for the second year in a row, although this time they faced much more competition than last year. Ben Davis took down Castle and Pendleton Heights to take the victory. Premiers now have eight recorded wins, all within the state of Indiana.
Homestead: Solon Music in Motion capped off their first undefeated season since 2012 by outlasting a handful of potent groups. One-seventh of MIM’s all-time wins have come this season. The triumph was Solon’s first in Indiana, adding to previous wins in Ohio, Virginia, and West Virginia.
Iowa
Cedar Rapids Jefferson: Davenport North beat Iowa City High to take its 16th recorded win and second since 2016. It was also Northside Establishment’s second win at Cedar Rapids Jefferson. Its first win at the event came in 2000 over Sioux City East, Linn-Mar, and Sumner-Fredericksburg.
Indianola: Cedar Rapids Kennedy beat an upstart Des Moines Christian in a chaotic four-state finals to take their second Ascension victory. The win was Happiness’ second this season, the first time they’ve won multiple comps in a season since 2015.
Pella: Davenport Central remained undefeated on the season, taking its third win of the year and beating Lewis Central and Iowa City West. CSI now has 11 wins in the past four seasons after having only five in the four seasons before the pandemic.
Spirit Lake: After a turbulent school year that saw leadership in flux during late fall and early winter, Totino-Grace Company of Singers closed its season in an emphatic way, taking its 37th recorded win and second since 2019. TG now has 10 wins in Iowa; it was their first in the Hawkeye State since Western Dubuque in 2015.
Minnesota
Hastings: In a clash of three great Omaha groups, Millard West took its second win of the season and 26th overall. West in the Groove denied Omaha Westside what would’ve been their third win at Hastings. The win was WIG’s first in the state of Minnesota; they are the 15th different group to win Swingin’ on the River.
Mississippi
Petal: Clinton survived a bit of a small scare in prelims from Grenada and swept the Petal Show Choir Invitational. It is Attaché’s 96th recorded win and their 13th at Petal, most of any group at any competition that begins with the letter P.
Missouri
Nevada: Webb City Singers won its third competition of the year, staging a comeback bid after placing behind Carthage in prelims. Singers notched its 10th win, with eight of those coming in the past three seasons. They are the seventh different group to win the Nevada Show Choir Classic.
Rock Bridge: Smith-Cotton New Score Singers took their first win in ten years, taking home the gold at Southside Showdown. It was a full-circle moment for director Avery Mather, as he was in the last New Score Singers group to win. It was Smith-Cotton’s sixth win overall and second win at Smith-Cotton, as they beat Neosho, Harrisonville, Hannibal, Carthage and Atchison in 2015.
Nebraska
Omaha South: Johnston Innovation won its second competition of the year over Pius X and Millard North. Inno is the sixth different group to win at Omaha South, and it’s their second win in Nebraska (the first was at the UNL Midwest Cup in 2023). Johnston now sits at 47 recorded wins.
Wahoo: Hastings Uncaged split captions with Skutt Catholic Vivace, taking the grand championship and denying Skutt what would’ve been Vivace’s first win since 2019. Uncaged has now won a competition two years in a row, establishing a small winning streak that has the potential to grow to several years under the direction of Christian Yost.
Ohio
Alliance: Euclid Varsity Chorale continued to make its case as the hottest small mixed choir in the country, taking its third consecutive overall win after having zero at all before the season began. It is shades of Blue Valley last season, who had no prior wins but exploded for three over the course of the season.
Grove City: Hurricane won its second consecutive appearance at Voices in the Grove. Red Hot also won in 2023 but did not attend the event in 2024. With the victory, Hurricane moved into ninth place on the all-time list for wins in Ohio, passing Colerain.
Ross: Marysville continued its undefeated season by winning vocals and choreo over Fairfield and Loveland. Swingers Unlimited now has 64 recorded wins, which is tied with the now-defunct La Crosse Central for ninth overall.
Texas
LD Bell: Jenks Trojanaires staved off Fort Worth Southwest to win the inaugural HEB Invitational. Trojanaires has now established a two-year winning streak after winning at Rock Bridge in Missouri last season. The win was Jenks’ first in the state of Texas.
Legacy: Fossil Ridge Pantheon improved four spots on their placing at this same comp last season, took Best Vocals, Best Choreography and a Best Soloist award, and won its first-ever competition. Pantheon is only in its fourth competitive season, joining Elkhorn North adrENaline in the “debuted in 2022, first win in 2025” show choir club.
Virginia
Thomas Dale: Cosby Spotlight competed in Virginia for the first time this season and walked away with its first win of the season, outpacing Midlothian and Atlee. Cosby now has 23 recorded wins, putting them on the same level as Neosho and Papillion-La Vista South.
West Virginia
Poca: Avon continued its undefeated season, as its choirs took first and third at MusicFest. Accents are in the drivers seat to go undefeated during the ‘regular’ season, as they are favorites at Mooresville and Columbia City. Accents’ win at Poca is the first time an Indiana group has won in West Virginia.
Robert C. Byrd: Martinsburg Good Times won middle mixed in prelims and beat large group Manchester in finals to keep the champion trophy in West Virginia. Good Times secured its first win since the Cosby Titan Tournament of Choirs in 2023 and its 11th recorded win.
