Another weekend of the 2025 southern show choir season is over and the another set of results are in. There's no shortage of groups that impressed from this past weekend, as well as groups that maybe didn't have the weekend they wanted.
OAK MOUNTAIN KING OF THE MOUNTAIN INVITATIONAL

(@hwd_showchoirs)
While this competition did lose one of its favorites with the announcement of Grenada dropping out due to sickness, this event was anything but short of competition. With each division still full of solid groups, there was something to watch wherever you looked. At the end of it all, Homewood walked away with not only a sweep Grand Championship - they also managed to get all three of their groups into finals, a feat astonishing in its own right. While Oxford and Homewood’s girls group swept their other divisional foes, Middle Division could not have been closer. Homewood Continuum somehow managed to win the tier while not gathering a single divisional caption, as that honor went to Vestavia Hills (vocals) and Briarwood (choreo and show design). Full results are as below (five finalists):
GC) Homewood “The Network” (Sweep)
1RU) Auburn “Varsity Singers”
2RU) Spain Park “Rhapsody In Blue”
3RU) Homewood “Continuum”
4RU) Homewood “Nexus”
1st in X-Large/Large) Homewood “The Network”
1st in Middle Division) Homewood “Continuum”
1st in Small Division) Oxford “Sound”
1st in Single Gender) Homewood “Nexus”
NORTHEAST JONES CLASSIC

Nothing explains this competition better than the term “good ol’ fashioned revenge”. That’s just what Brandon got here, as they swept West Jones in finals to put last weekend’s results in the rearview mirror. Now they get ready to head back up north, this time visiting Indiana to face the likes of Linn-Mar and Carmel (among many others) amidst their insane competition schedule. A small finals batch was rounded out by Madison Central in the 2RU spot. South Jones beat Rosa Scott for the 2A crown, while all other divisions were non-competitive. Full results are as below (three finalists):
GC) Brandon “Brio” (Sweep)
1RU) West Jones “Imagination”
2RU) Madison Central “Reveille”
1st in 4A) Brandon “Brio”
Only group in 3A) West Jones “Imagination”
1st in 2A) South Jones “Company”
Only group in 1A) Wayne County “Orange Sensations”
Only group in Single Gender) Brandon “Bellas”
OPELIKA SOUTHERN SHOWCASE

(Erika Ring Cagle)
History was made down at Opelika this weekend! The singers and dancers down at Hoover got to claim their first-ever Grand Championship as a program (and a sweep at that). Albertville rounded out the other top spot while their womens group competed in a non-competitive division. It is worth noting that West Marion did sweep a solid Small Division bunch here, defeating Tallassee, Cleveland and Eufala. Results are as below (no finals):
GC) Hoover “Paradigm” (BV/BC/Show Design)
1st in Middle Division) Hoover “Paradigm”
1st in Small Division) West Marion “New Era”
1st in Single Gender) Albertville “CenSations!”
