The Brandon Show Choir Elite event this weekend signals the end of the show choir season, but there's still ground to be gained in every division. Plus, catching up on everything that's happened since Biloxi.
SHOW CHOIR NATIONALS

(@showchoirnationals)
This last weekend’s competition that featured southern show choir programs was none other than Show Choir Nationals, considered to be one of the most prestigious show choir competitions year-in and year-out in terms of skill level. While the southern side of things didn’t fare as well in the single-gender division (all southern groups missing the top three spots and placing in the fourth and fifth overall spots), two of the three attending southern X-Large/Large mixed groups made finals. Auburn moved up a spot between prelims and finals as well. Final results are as below (six finalists):
GC) Carmel “Ambassadors” (BV/BC)
1RU) Los Alamitos “Sound FX”
2RU) Zionsville “Royalaires”
3RU) Petal “Soundsations”
4RU) Auburn “Varsity Singers”
5RU) Daniel Hand “VIBE” (BB)
BRANDON ELITE
The only outdoor southern show choir competition of the circuit (although it will be indoors this time around due to imminent weather), Brandon ELITE will be an interesting competition to watch thanks to a couple of out-of-state visitors. Show choir blue blood Mt. Zion will be visiting from Illinois, Rome will be visiting from Georgia, and the duo of Burleson and Burleson Centennial will be visiting from Texas. That makes this competition a four-state event! How these visitors hold up against the likes of some mid-major southern competition like Northwest Rankin, South Jones, Northeast Jones, and Pisgah will be interesting. Full predictions are as below (no finals):
GC) Northwest Rankin “The Ambassadors” (Sweep)
1st in 4A) Mt. Zion “Swingsations”
1st in 3A) Northwest Rankin “The Ambassadors”
1st in 2A) Northeast Jones “Gold Horizons”
1st in 1A) Rome “Grand Finale”
1st in Single Gender) Northwest Rankin “The Allure”
Come right back here after the weekend is over for a dissection of all the results, whether they be chalk or upsets. Good luck to all the groups!
