South Dakota hosts seven competitions throughout the season, two of which occurred last weekend. The Vermillion Rhythm In Red Invitational brought small schools together in the college town, while the Sioux Falls O’Gorman Standing O wrapped up the Sioux Falls events for the season.

Final Results
Grand Champion: Sioux Falls Jefferson “Legacy” (BV/BC)
1st Runner Up: Sioux Falls Jefferson “Revelry” (BB)
2nd Runner Up: Woodbine “Visual Harmonics”
3rd Runner Up: Logan-Magnolia “Off-Center Stage”
4th Runner Up: Hinton “Soundwaves”
In a first for their program, Sioux Falls Jefferson took the top two spots on the podium. This is also Jefferson's first win of the season, along with their first win at Vermillion in three appearances. Jefferson’s girl's group Revelry snagged the band award over Legacy. Visual Harmonics took third place, the highest the group has placed since 2019 at Underwood. This is the first finals appearance for Off-Center Stage since 2018, also at Underwood. This is also Soundwaves' first finals placement of the season so far, and they have two more chances to repeat this year, competing at Emmetsburg and Westwood.

Womens Division
Grand Champion: Sioux Falls Roosevelt “Capitol Harmony”
1st Runner Up: Sioux Falls Washington “Stage Lights”
2nd Runner Up: Aberdeen Central “Special Request”
3rd Runner Up: Papillion-La Vista “Heart and Soul”
After not taking a spot on the podium thus far, Capitol Harmony upset Stage Lights to win the womens division. Stage Lights had two prior division wins this season, along with a finals berth at Lincoln Southwest, where they were sixth overall. Special Request is still looking for adivision win after winning four times in 2024, and Heart & Soul did not find much luck when travelling out-of-state to compete.

Grand Champion: Bloomington Kennedy “Rhythm In Gold” (BV)
1st Runner Up: Sioux Falls Roosevelt “Executive Suite” (BC)
2nd Runner Up: Sioux Falls Washington “Classic Connection”
3rd Runner Up: Aberdeen Central “Eagle Express”
4th Runner Up: Papillion-La Vista “Free Spirit” (BB)
5th Runner Up: Papillion-La Vista “Monarchy”
At their last competition of the season, Rhythm In Gold took home, well, the gold. This was a split-caption win with Executive Suite who, after having a rough start the their season, took Best Choreography. Many expected Classic Connection to take the Best Choreography award at this competition, but this just shows how much Executive Suite has improved since the beginning of the season. This is also the first time that Classic Connection has beaten Eagle Express in finals since Mitchell in 2019. Eagle Express is going to have to fight hard for a win this upcoming weekend at Sioux City East. Two of the three Papillion-La Vista groups placed in the bottom half of the ranking, with Free Spirit taking Best Band from Classic Connection, who took it over them at Lincoln Southwest.
Bloomington Kennedy and Papillion-La Vista are done with their seasons. Aberdeen Central heads to Sioux City East and Sioux Falls Roosevelt heads to Emmetsburg this weekend, while Sioux Falls Washington has the week off before heading north to Aberdeen Central in two weeks. Save for anyone who may make Mitchell a late add to their schedule, that will be it for the South Dakota season this year.
