HomeRoom Show Choir Debuts New Podcast Series, Behind The Risers

Following a successful first season of the nationally-focused Show Choir Nation podcast, HomeRoom Show Choir is expanding its podcast offerings.

HRSC New England contributor Michael James Breen is host of Behind the Risers, a new podcast series that dives into the stories and personalities that make the New England show choir scene what it is.

"When coming up with the idea for Behind the Risers, I wanted to create a podcast for the post high school show choir folk," Breen said. "It stemmed from a need to provide a current space to directors, choreographers, arrangers, etc to share stories about becoming a show choir professional and the trials and tribulations that come from working in the profession."

Behind the Risers is a longform interview show that gets into the nitty-gritty of running a show choir program and is an interesting listen for both show choir students and professionals.

Episode one features South Windsor director Jereme Martineau and assistant director Emma Luxemburg.

"The discussion takes a deep dive into the 2024 season, the story of the program as a whole, and hopes for the future," noted Breen.
