With the energy at an end-of-season high, the stage at Omaha North was set for a showdown between two excellent groups, Gretna East and Omaha South. Others finished their season with historic placements worthy of a season-ending event.
Prep Division
1st: Grand Island "Future Image"
2nd: Aurora "Impact"
Future Image gained a second prep division win exactly a month after its first of the season.
Womens Division
1st: Grand Island "Sweet Revelation"
It was a good day to be Grand Island. Sweet Revelation got their first division champion trophy this season after placing fourth and second at previous competitions. They won over Omaha South Amplify and Ralston Runway.
Final Results
Grand Champion: Gretna East "Equinox" (BV)
1st Runner Up: Omaha South "The Ambassadors" (BC/BB)
2nd Runner Up: Grand Island "Ultimate Image"
3rd Runner Up: O'Gorman "Ovation!"
4th Runner Up: Elkhorn "Excel"
5th Runner Up: Aurora "Rhapsody"
Aurora is on the rise, as this was their third time making finals this season - all in a row! Elkhorn is another group who is on the rise from last year and made finals at all of their competitions this season. O'Gorman faced Elkhorn before and lost, but this time they made the comeback, placing fourth overall. Grand Island had a wide range of results throughout the season. They placed third here, which is exactly how they placed at their very first competition of the season. Omaha South and Gretna East were the big players at Omaha North. Gretna East took Best Vocals and won overall, but Omaha South swiped the Best Choreography and Best Band captions, along with Best costumes and Best ballad. Both groups have something to be proud of, as this was Omaha South's highest placement of the season, and this marked Gretna East's third grand champion.
Four out of the six finalists closed out their seasons at Viking Cup. Omaha South will be competing at Westwood, and O'Gorman will be competing at Aberdeen Central on March 15. The 2025 season is about to come to a close for Nebraska, with one more competition happening this weekend at Millard North.
