A seemingly straightforward and uninteresting competition turned into an intense showdown between small and large groups. Entering this weekend most people were interested in watching North Royalton, the group who ended Huntington North’s winning streak, face off against Homestead, who had struggled to compete with Huntington North the last few years. However, in the end, two unlikely underdogs upset the competition.

Upsets
Jay County “Patriot Edition”
While they lost to them earlier in the season, Jay County defeated North Royalton, a large group, in finals at Churubusco.
Columbia City “City Heat”
After back to back defeats at Huntington North and Avon just a day prior, some might’ve counted “City Heat” out. However, Columbia City came back swinging, continuing their back and forth with Jay County and joining “Patriot Edition” in outclassing two large groups in finals after sweeping their division.
Fairfield “Fusion”
Other than a finals jump to second place at DeKalb, Fairfield has seemingly had a rough season. However, after a weekend off, Fusion outplaced Anderson and Garrett in prelims, just barely missing finals.
